NYC gym teacher claims 6-year-old student beat him up

Who would think a 6-year-old boy could beat up a two hundred and twenty pound gym teacher? Rodrigo Carpio has tried to hurt many people at school and finally did. It does not matter if the person is six or seventeen. In my opinion they need to be disciplined.  I think the parents have a lot to do with how kids will act at school. If the kid is disciplined well enough at home, then they won’t act up in school causing or creating problems.
Rodrigo Carpio is a six year old that has been described as “an angel devil sort of thing” because of his sweet looks, but horrible behavior. Rodrigo has already kicked the school principle and pinched other individuals, including the school security officer. Rodrigo now has charges pressed against him for actually damaging the gym teacher’s knee. “He kicked me in the ankle, and one kick landed right on my knee. I felt a pop,” says gym teacher, Mr. Webster. I think they have every right to press charges, but Corpio’s dad thinks differently. “This lawsuit is totally absurd.” I disagree with his dad. This child already got away with physically hurting other members of the school faculty. He does not need to get by with damaging the teacher’s knee. He will never learn if he does not get punished properly. I do understand where they could think that pressing charges on such a young kid is not necessary because he is only six, but discipline is definitely needed. No matter what the age, the crime should be disciplined the same for everyone.  The gym teacher tried holding on to the kid so he could not do anything, but he could not control the kid kicking him. This also ties in with parenting. For the dad to think this child should not be in trouble for this, maybe shows what kind of parenting they apply. Parents need to help discipline, not just leave it to the school.  I know that if I were to do something like that in school, even if I were that young, I would have been in twice as much trouble at home then at school.
Different situations like this happen all the time. Of course a teacher cannot do anything physically back to the child because of the young age. This is why something needs to happen through the law. “Every citizen, no matter the age, should be punished equally.” Kicking people because you’re mad or in trouble is not acceptable. If you have a problem, keep it to yourself or seek help. Don’t under any circumstance take matters into your own hands and physically abuse another human being because you are upset.  If Rodrigo would have already got in trouble by his parents and teachers at school, then this probably would not have occurred again.

Think before you drink

While attending parties can be fun and exciting, it can also have consequences. "Mark Grace cannot stop going to jail for driving drunk after attending a party." People never think about what will happen after the fun and games are over. Drinking and driving can result in jail or death. When I drink, I give my keys up to a responsible person. It is good to give your keys to someone who isn't drinking when you are. That is a way to insure your safety and possible others. "I can't remember a thing from that night, but I sure do wish Meagan was still here." Drinking & driving can not only be hazardous to you, but also to the safety of other citizens. A good way to insure that you don't go to jail for MURDER, is to give your keys up before you start drinking. Next time you attend a super cool party, give your keys up or ride with someone.

Forgivness

"Two boys open fire in a high school, killing several and wounding many others", would I forgive them? My answer is plain and simple, NO! First off, they're BOY'S. Not men, but boys. They shouldn't ever even think of killing someone other than on video games. Also, they have yet to have a good reason to do it. That is what is wrong with our world today, they always resort to violence. Have you ever heard the saying. "Do to others what you would want done to you"? If you go around shooting up a school, you cant exect forgivness. You deserve to face a hard-hard punishment. But, that is just my view on the issue. God also says, "You must forgive to be forgiven". So, at somes view, they can forgive this harsh crime. But for me, this can not be forgiven.

Secrets

Everyone has something to hide, but some are better at hiding it. In the hit TV show, Pretty Little Liars, Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna all are going crazy trying to keep their biggest secrets hidden. “What really happened to Alison, and who is A?” This is the question on everyone’s mind. Personally, I have read the books but still find myself lost in the confusing twists and turns of the plot within the show.  In the book, Hanna’s best friend Mona is the one torturing the girls, but in the show the plot is taken much further in the fact that there is an entire team of people working behind the name A.  In the TV series and the books all four of the girls are trying to hide their biggest secrets. I can understand this because I myself have secrets that I wouldn’t want anyone else to know. It can sometimes be stressful to keep all these secrets from family and friends.

1 Teenager Dies, 2 injured Friday in train collision near Tuckerman

When driving, we never actually pay good enough attention to what is going on around us.
"1 Teenager dies, 2 injured Friday in train collision near Tuckerman." We know what the risks are, but we do not think that they'd happen to us. We need to be more aware of risks. "William Brown,18, died.. Donnie Stapleton, a 14-year-old passenger, was later flown to Children's Hospital.." When we take on huge risks, such as driving, were not only endangering ourselves, but also others. We need to pay attention & help keep our own safety & others safety okay.

About 3 years ago, my cousin died in a car crash. "Teenager Kayla Smart, 19, of Newark Arkansas dies after hitting an 18 wheeler. "like in William Browns case, she died being a passenger. Both were hit by a very large object coming at them. "We tried to save her.. Smart took her last breath and left us." After being hit by an impact so strong Kayla and the other boys fought for their life. We need to realize these risks and decrease them.

Current Connection (11-20)

                                                  Pro Philanthropy

Is it a moral obligation to practice Philanthropy? I believe that it is in fact a moral obligation to practice Philanthropy. It is our duty as Americans, to help out the less foprtunate as much as we can without hurting ourselves. Like in the story’s “Thank You Ma’am” & “The Batesville Story”, other people believe the same.

In the story, “Thank You Ma’am” by Langston Hughs, he gives many great examples of Philanthropy. One example is when the boy (Rodger) trys to snatch Mrs. Jones purse, she didn’t call the cops or yell at him. She picked him up by his shirt & started to talk to him. A lot of peoples first reaction would be to call the cops & have the boy arrested. I think her not calling the cops is a nice thing.  Another example is when she took him home. She didn’t ask about his past or anything, she just simply said, “Um-hum! And your face is dirty. I got a great mind to wash your face for you. Ain’t you go nobody home to tell you to wash your face?” & the boy replied with,”No’m” So Mrs. Jones said “Then it will get washed this evening” & took him to her house. Like me, Langston Hughs believes in Philanthropy. Every little bit you give can help.

Another person who believes in Philanthropy is Jeanni Brosius. In the story “The Batesville Story” She explains several zany examples of Philanthropy.  One example is when John 3:16 took Jerry Smart in to there hands to get him help so he didn’t have to live on the streets & so he could repair his life. That is a great example of Philanthropy. I believe many people should express philanthropy more. Another great example is when it explains how Elizabeths resteraunt gives food to the hungry & gives them little easy side jobs so they can make a little bit of money & have mney to buy them some food & clothes. You couldn’t ask for a more generous women.

It doesn’t matter how much you give, just that you give. We need to all team up & give a little to the poor. Im not talking about several thousands of dollars, but just some. Don’t give to much that your family gets put in a bind. So yes, I do believe that it is a moral obligation to practice philanthropy.

Bi weekly paper #2

<3 American Soldier <3
When it comes to people fighting for our country, do you ever stop & think about what they are risking to keep us free?  No one really thinks about what it is like to be a soldier & risk your life for the people in your country to have rights & to be free & stay safe.  Soldier's leave home knowing that they might not ever come back.  That is a scary thought to face.
In the song American Soldier by Toby Keith, he addresses what it is like to be a soldier.   In the song he states, "I don’t do it for money, there’s bills that I can’t pay.  I don’t do it for the glory, I just do it anyway.  Providing for our future’s, my responsibility.  Yeah I’m real good under pressure, being all that I can be.  And I can’t call in sick on Mondays when the weekend’s been too strong.  I just work straight through the holidays, and sometimes all night long.
You can bet that I stand ready, when the wolf growls at the door.  Hey I’m solid, hey I’m steady, hey I’m true down to the core.  And I will always do my duty no matter what the price.
I’ve counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice.  Oh and I don’t want to die for you, but if dyin’s asked of me.  I’ll bear that cross with honor, cause freedom don’t come free."  What Toby is stating is that, soldiers don't defend our country for the glory or the money, they do it to provide everyone our future.  No one really thinks about what soldiers are missing by defending our country.  They work through: Holidays, birthdays, family deaths, & all night long.  They don't get to pick when they come home, or if they do get to come home.  Some make it & some don't.
When it comes to the people who defend our country, we really do need to be grateful. If it wasn't for the soldiers who leave home, & their family's behind, then we wouldn't have the freedom and rights we have today.  Next time you see a soldier, or even hear about a soldier dying, you need to stop & think.  Just take a min even to bow your head & pray for the guys/girls who are out there defending our rights as american citizens.
